Masked man robs his victim of £70 and a Nokia mobile phone

A MASKED man punched his victim in the face before robbing him of cash and a mobile phone.

The incident happened between 12.38am and 1.10am on Thursday (April 7) as the victim was walking in Peacehaven.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was walking along Balcombe Road when he became aware of someone behind him.

Moments later, as he approached the junction with Malines Avenue, he was punched in the face, causing him to fall to the ground.

The attacker then proceeded to punch and kick the victim to the face and upper body.

The victim reported to Sussex Police a Nokia mobile phone, a set of keys and £70 in cash being stolen.

The suspect is a white man in his 20s, about 5′ 7”, of slim build with short blonde hair.

He was dressed in all dark clothing and wore a green and white face mask which covered his nose and mouth.

A 25-year-old man from Peacehaven has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and bailed until June pending further enquiries.
