HTC has unveiled its new One-series smartphone, the One A9s. The new smartphone from HTC is a variant of the ‘iPhone-like’ HTC One A9 unveiled last year. Unfortunately, the Taiwanese maker has not revealed any details about the availability or the pricing of the HTC One A9s so far. HTC has however confirmed that the One A9s will be priced lower than the last year’s One A9.
The new One A9s sports an identical design as the One A9 and also features metal build. It will be available in Black, Gold, and Silver colours.
The HTC One A9s features a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) Super LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the company’s Sense UI on top. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core (2GHz quad-core + 1GHz quad-core) MediaTek Helio P10 processor. To recall, the HTC One A9 came with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor.
The new One A9s will be available in two models – one with 2GB of RAM with 16GB of inbuilt storage, and the other sporting g3GB of RAM with 32GB of storage. Both the models will support expandable storage via microSD card (up to 2TB).It sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with BSI sensor, f/2.2 aperture, and an LED flash. HTC has confirmed that the One A9s primary camera can record videos 1080p. The One A9s packs a 5-megapixel front camera and can also record videos at 1080p.
Much like the HTC One A9, the One A9s features a fingerprint scanner which is embedded in the home button. Some of the other features include HTC BoomSound and two microphones with noise cancellation capability. The HTC One A9s comes with Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, Glonass, 3G, 4G LTE, and Wi-Fi a/b/g/n connectivity options. It is backed by a 2300mAh battery. The smartphone measures 146.49×71.5×7.99mm and weighs around 150 grams.
