Hazelight Studios – the development team behind acclaimed co-op games It Takes Two and A Way Out – is seemingly gearing up to announce its next game sometime later this year. In honor of its upcoming tenth anniversary in November, Hazelight Studios tweeted, “We’ve got new (real good) stuff cooking that we’ll talk more about later this year,” giving a brief description of its upcoming game. Since the release of It Takes Two in 2021, Hazelight Studios has not provided any information about its upcoming project. Game director and studio founder Josef Fares said in an interview shortly afterward that people would be “blown away” by the developer’s next game on a conceptual level, but little else is known about the project beyond that. Having said that, we can probably assume that Hazelight’s next game will also be a co-op experience because of its history and the success it has had with games like A Way Out and It Takes Two. Hazelight Studios recently announced that It Takes Two had been played by over 30 million people across all platforms and had sold more than 16 million copies worldwide.
