LG is expected to unveil a number of smartphones during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 which is slated to take place between February 25 and February 28 in Barcelona. The Korean electronics giant has already confirmed that it is planning to launch the LG G8 ThinQ and a 5G-enabled phone at its February 24 event. Besides the two mentioned flagship devices, the company is also expected to launch a budget smartphone, the LG K12 Plus, at the event. And now, just days ahead of the launch event, the phone has been spotted on Google Play Console.
According to a report by the XDA Developers, the LG K12 Plus is listed on the Google Play Console with the model number mmh4. The Play Console listing, apart from giving a strong indication towards the possible upcoming launch of the phone has divulged a number of key details about the phone.
The LG K12 Plus, as per the details available on Google Play Console, will come with MediaTek MT6762 system-on-chip and it will run on Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box. The listing also revealed that LG’s upcoming smartphone would sport 3GB RAM and come with a HD display with a screen resolution of 720 x 1,440 pixels and a screen density of 280 PPI. The MediaTek processor will be paired a PowerVR GE8320 GPU that clocks a speed of 650MHz.
Notably, this is not the first time that we are hearing about the LG K12 Plus. Earlier this month, a report by Tiger Mobiles revealed a similar specs sheet for LG’s upcoming K-series smartphone. Additionally, the report also gave us a glimpse of what the budget smartphone could look like. If the report is to be believed, the LG K12 plus will sport narrow bezels on the sides and wide bezels on the bottom and on the top and that the top bezels will house an earpiece and the front camera.
Unlike its 5G-enabled smartphone and the LG G8 ThinQ, LG so far has remained tight-lipped about its budget smartphone. This means that we will have to wait until LG’s MWC 2019 event to find out what the company has in store for us.
