While we already know that the Microsoft Lumia 950 will be an AT&T exclusive in the US, there has been no information on specifically when the device would be available for purchase in the country. However, that was until now, as it is now being reported that the handset will go on sale in the US on November 20.
Reports attribute the delay in launch mainly to the enabling of Windows Hello’s iris scanner – if you aren’t already aware, the Windows Hello feature uses the front-facing camera to recognize you and unlock the device. There’s, however, no official confirmation on whether or not the feature will be available at launch.
It is also being said that the pre-orders for the device – which is expected to carry a price tag of around $550 – would go live as soon as this Thursday (November 12). For those who are looking forward to purchase a Lumia 950 XL instead, it’s worth reminding that in the US, the device (unlocked) will only be available at Microsoft Stores.
