Motorola Moto X 2017 to be called Moto X4

Although it didn’t announce any new Moto X phones since 2015, Motorola Mobility is not done with this series of handsets. The company is getting ready to release a Moto X (2017), but not under this name. According to a logo revealed by Evan Blass, the new device will be called Moto X4.

We still don’t know when this new Moto X should be announced, but it probably won’t be long now before it happens. What we do know is that the Moto X4 will (likely) not be a flagship device.

A recently leaked video revealed that the Moto X4 should be powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 660 processor, featuring water-resistance, 4 GB of RAM, a 3800 mAh battery with Turbo Charging, and a 5.5-inch screen (possibly with 1080 x 1920 pixels). Design-wise, the handset seemingly resembles the Moto G5 Plus, having a metal body, a fingerprint scanner on the front, and a round camera bump on the back.

We’re guessing that the Moto X4 will be sold unlocked in the US, being compatible with most relevant carriers (just like the Moto G5 and G5 Plus are). For now, there’s no word on how much the X4 will cost, but under $500 sounds like a good guess.
