LG announces three new K-series smartphones but you can’t buy them yet

LG K61

LG on Tuesday announced three new smartphones under its mid-range K series. As forgetful as they are, the three phones are called LG K61, LG K51S, and LG K41S and have a quad-camera setup at the back. The new smartphones are also MIL-STD 810G compliant, which means they are built to endure extreme climatic conditions and survive accidental drops. The 2020 models under the K-series also promise big on ‘advanced features’ that could offer an experience like Google Pixel phones, LG has claimed.

The LG K61, LG K51S, and LG K41S do not have pricing yet, though. The prices of the smartphones will be announced later in the second quarter of the year – which is also when the three K-series phones will debut in the US, followed by a launch in Europe. But, while the pricing is not confirmed, we assume the smartphones will settle for a mid-range price tag.

LG K51S

The USP of the LG K61, K51S, and K41S is the cameras at the back but they differ on each model. The LG K61 has the mightiest cameras, at least on paper, with a main 48-megapixel main sensor, accompanied by an 8-megapixel Super Wide sensor, 2-megapixel macro sensor, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. Coming to the LG K51S, there is a 32-megapixel primary camera, a 5-megapixel Super Wide camera, a 2-megapixel macro sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Finally, the LG K41S packs a 13-megapixel main camera, a 5-megapixel Super Wide camera, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth-sensing camera.

Moving to other specifications of all three smartphones, the LG K61 comes with a 6.51-inch FHD+ 19.5:9 display with a punch-hole setup, the K51S has a 6.5-inch HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and a punch-hole design, whereas the LG K41S has the same 6.5-inch HD+ display but with a waterdrop-style notch. The LG K61, K51S, and K41S have a 4000mAh battery under the hood. The LG K61 has a 16-megapixel selfie shooter, the K51S packs a 13-megapixel selfie camera, and the K41S sports an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

LG K41S

The K61 is powered by an unnamed 2.3GHz octa-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of internal memory, along with expandability up to 2TB via microSD card. The K51S is also powered by a 2.3GHz processor, the maker of which has not been specified. It packs 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage that can be expanded via microSD card of up to 2TB. Finally, the LG K41S rocks an unnamed 2.0GHz processor coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage, but you can expand it up to 2TB via microSD card.
